Reason For Samantha Irvin's Shock WWE Departure

Further details have been provided regarding Samantha Irvin’s shock exit from WWE.

Just a few hours before the October 21st episode of Monday Night Raw went on the air, Samantha Irvin made the announcement that her time as ring announcer had come to an end. With many fans and those within the company surprised by the announcement, speculation began as to the reason for the exit, if a move to AEW was on the cards and if it was on her own terms.

Speaking about Irvin’s exit on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer stated that the former ring announcer’s exit has been something she had been considering for a long time as she is looking to focus on her musical career:

Bryan Alvarez: “She’s got some outside projects she wants to do, couldn’t come to terms with how it worked with WWE and off she goes.”

Dave Meltzer: “She’s actually been thinking about it for a year. She’s a singer, she also plays the flute, but she wants to get more involved in her music. It was just something that she’d been talking about for a long, long time, and finally pulled the trigger on it. And that’s about it, really.

She’s not planning on going to AEW, not saying 100% that she won’t go. Ricochet actually tweeted that she’s not going and it was not her intention to go there, which is interesting because Lillian Garcia actually did the same thing. She left once for musical reasons and things like that too and she’s cut albums and things like that, and she’s back, so that’s pretty much it.

She [Samantha Irvin] left on her own. It was something that she’d been considering. She didn’t grow up as a wrestling person. She grew up as a musical person, and this was her passion. So she’s trying to follow her passion.”

Mike Johnson of PWInsider also corroborated the terms of Irvin’s exit by saying that the former ring announcer did leave on her own terms.

With Irvin being very popular among the fans with her unique and charismatic delivery, fans were curious as to who would take over the announcing duties in WWE on Monday nights. Following the return of legendary announcer Lilian Garcia to the brand, a positive update was provided.
