Fans have pointed out a striking detail about Saoirse Ronan's four favorite movies.

The Irish actress and her Outrun co-stars Paapa Essiedu, Nora Fingscheidt and Amy Liptrot appeared on letterboxd last month, a social media platform where users share their film recommendations with fellow cinema-lovers.

The platform is known for hosting celebrities including Liam Neeson and many of them choose obscure, less mainstream flicks. Saoirse Ronan, though, bucked the trend by opting for four very popular and well-known films.

"I find this question so hard to answer," Saoirse mused. "And I'm not going to pick the cool ones."

Straight in, the 30-year-old Little Women star went for Bridesmaids, the 2011 comedy which Essiedu sitting beside her dubbed a "banger" starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Chris O'Dowd to name a few.

"There are some films that I've watched many, many times, and other films that I've only watched once that are also some of my favorite films," Saoirse went on, before listing Dirty Dancing and Sister Act among her favorites.

The most out-there of the line-up was Maestro featuring Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan. She also gave an honorable mention to Ryan's Daughter, which was in fact set in a village on on the Dingle Peninsula in Co Kerry.

Fans couldn't get enough of Saoirse's down-to-earth picks.

One user wrote: "I love that Saoirse's aren’t just pretentious films no one’s ever heard of," while another gushed: "Finally somebody choose movies that I know, not just pretentious movies."

A third scribed: "Bridesmaids IS that good and no one can tell me otherwise." while a fourth agreed: "Saoirse has to be one of the most critically acclaimed actresses of all time yet she has bridesmaids in her top 4, love her for that!"

Others in the comment section hailed Saoirse for being "the realest person to answer this [question]" and "a breath of fresh air".

Ronan was just 13 years old when she appeared in the first film that would land her an Oscar nomination. Ronan played a precocious teenager in 2007’s Atonement, which earned her a nod for Best Supporting Actress.
