WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is going down tonight (Sat., Dec. 14, 2024) from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, New York, starting at 8:00 pm ET, live on NBC and Peacock.

The show opens with a gently retro voiceover talking up the history of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Toss to a video package clicking through the channels on an old CRT TV until they find an intro to the show made up of old footage that gives way to a proper retro-style opening video package set to Obsession.

Commentary runs down the card for tonight over the usual montage of talent arriving at the arena.

Joe Tessitore welcomes Jesse “the Body” Ventura to the show and he talks about coming back to WWE after all this time and so on and soforth.

Pat McAfee joins Michael Cole at the announce desk.

Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn

McIntyre hot out the gates, strikes in the corner, Zayn catches him with a flurry of mounted punches in the turnbuckles and clotheslines him to the floor! Kick from the apron, Arabian press Asai moonsault connects! Back inside, low bridge, Sami with a plancha but Drew catches him and chucks him over the announce desk!

Back from commercial, belly-to-belly suplex from McIntyre, mounted punches, Zayn catches him, Helluva Kick blocked, spinebuster into a jackknife pin but Sami kicks out! Drew follows it with a Liger Bomb, fireman’s carry, headed up top... SAMI ZAYN COUNTER AVALANCHE SUNSET FLIP POWERBOMB BUT DREW KICKS OUT!

Looking for the Blue Thunder Driver, struggling to get McIntyre up and Drew cracks him with a headbutt! Claymore attempt, countered... BLUE THUNDER DRIVER CAN’T GET IT DONE! A little back and forth...

Drew McIntyre wins by pinfall with Claymore.

Damage CTRL are shown walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we see Tito Santana, Rich Hering, and “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart in the front row.

IYO SKY vs. Liv Morgan (c) (WWE Women’s World Championship)

Morgan charging early, back elbows, SKY cuts her off with a dropkick, follows with the flapjack, cover for two! To the apron, IYO wants a German suplex, Liv fights her off, powerbomb denied, Penalty Kick from SKY! Asai moonsault follows it, she’s fired up and we go to break!

Back from commercial, IYO with a pair of Shotei, dropkick sends Morgan to the floor, she’s fired up, off the ropes, suicide dive lands true! Back inside, cover for two, corner knees sidestepped and Liv hits the lungblower! Diving Codebreaker follows, cover... NOPE! SKY with rolling German suplexes, bridging on the third... STILL NO!

Up top, Morgan cuts her off, shoulder armbreaker from the apron and IYO goes back up but slips and Liv hits another Codebreaker for two! SKY with a small package, Morgan an enzuigiri, IYO takes her down into an arm-trap crossface! Reversal reversed into a short-arm knee, corner knees connect!!

SKY headed up top, perching... BOOTS UP TO COUNTER THE MOONSAULT! IYO into the ropes, Liv right on her...

Liv Morgan wins by pinfall with Oblivion, retaining the WWE Women’s World Championship.

Post-match, as Judgment Day go to leave, Rhea Ripley makes her entrance!

She squares up with Liv, Morgan holds her title up, and that’s that.

And so we go to break.

Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor vs. GUNTHER (c) (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

Balor bailing out and rushing back in once GUNTHER and Priest get into it, but they overwhelm him and send him packing! Damian with an uppercut that puts the Ring General on the apron, forearms and kicks knock him to the floor! Off the ropes, big dive and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Balor goes for a whip on Priest, blocked, big elbows whipped right at Finn’s dome! Whip to the corner, Damian explodes out but GUNTHER returns with boots for both his challengers! Balor off the ropes, Ring General staggers him with a chop but Finn hits the Pele Kick and Priest wipes ‘em both out with a double clothesline!

Champion to his feet first, big chop to Damian, returned with emphasis and in triplicate! Kicks and a rolling elbow for Balor! Back elbows corner to corner, superkick to Finn, GUNTHER back body drops him to the apron! Knucklelock, Priest up top, ropewalk crossbody on the Ring General! Lifting reverse STO on Balor... ONLY A NEARFALL!

Gojira Clutch applied on Finn, Damian boots them over into a pinfall for Balor but the Ring General kicks out! Gojira Clutch on Priest, elbows, back to the hold, bodyscissors applied but Damian fights back to his feet! Snapmare rolls him off, Damian fired up, South of Heaven on the champion!

Finn hits the inverted headlock elbow drop on Priest, shotgun dropkick follows, up top but GUNTHER crotches him! Champion up top, jockeying for position, Damian cuts him off and hits the Razor’s Edge! Finn with the Coup de Grace... DAMIAN PRIEST BREAKS IT UP! Sunset flip for two, South of Heaven on Balor, GUNTHER pulls Priest off the cover by his topknot!

To the floor, Gojira Clutch applied, overhead elbows... POWERBOMB INTO THE STEEL STEPS! Ring General back inside, shotgun dropkick on Finn, Tenryu Powerbomb... IT’S OVER!

GUNTHER wins by pinfall with the Tenryu Powerbomb, retaining the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Back from commercial we get another segment with Jesse “the Body” Ventura and Joe Tessitore at the podium.

Ventura puts Liv Morgan over and compliments Dominik Mysterio in his taste in women before talking about how wrestling is bigger today than it was in ‘85.

Chelsea Green vs. “Michin” Mia Yim (WWE Women’s United States Championship Tournament Finals)

Trading slaps, Green throws her to the floor, off the ropes, Yim hauls off and cuts her off with another big slap! Tarantula over the bottom two ropes for a count of three, Mia slips to the floor and Piper slams her while referee Jessika Carr is distracted and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Green with a Rough Ryder for two, back and forth in the turnbuckles, Chelsea has her...

Chelsea Green wins by pinfall with Unpretty Her, becoming your inaugural WWE Women’s United States Champion!

Back from commercial we see Greg “the Hammer” Valentine and Koko B. Ware hanging out in the front row.

Jesse “the Body” Ventura joins commentary for our main event.

Kevin Owens makes his entrance and we go to break.

“American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens (WWE Undisputed Championship)

Owens bails immediately, taking a look at the title belt at ringside, back in and back out, Rhodes follows and hammers him with punches in front of the announce desk! Bouncing Kev’s face off the announce desk, back inside, KO out the other side, Cody dives on him! Back inside, Gourdbuster sends Owens back to the floor and he rams Rhodes into the post and bounces him off the announce desk before back suplexing him into it!

Kev greeting Randy Orton down the barrel of the camera, we go to break!

Back from commercial, up top and jockeying for position, Owens crotches him and follows it with the senton atomico... NOPE! KO with the Flip, Flop, & Fly, crotch chop, Cody cuts him off, his own Flip, Flop, & Fly into the Bionic Elbow! Up and over, snap scoop powerslam connects and the champion is fired up!

Beautiful Disaster for two, Cody going to that special place, double jump, Owens sees it coming and rolls to the safety of the floor and blasts Rhodes with a superkick when he follows after! Clearing the announce desk, fighting to the top of it... CODY CUTTER ON THE TABLE! Back inside... ANOTHER CODY CUTTER BUT KEVIN OWENS KICKS OUT!

Up top again, avalanche fisherman buster... SO CLOSE! Referee Charles Robinson gets bumped, Kev hits the Stunner... NO COUNT! Referee Eddie Orengo rushes down... STILL NO! This time Orengo gets caught in the crossfire and laid out and Owens puts Cody shoulder-first into the post!

KO brings a chair into the ring, Cody gets the better of him... Cross Rhodes on a chair! Rhodes slides the chair out of the ring, Robinson wakes up enough to count...

Cody Rhodes wins by pinfall with a Cross Rhodes on a chair, retaining the WWE Undisputed Championship.
