Read Seán O'Connor's report as Shamrock Rovers put their disappointing domestic form aside to ensure they will play group stage football in Europe this season.

Shamrock Rovers 3-1 Celje

(Rovers win 3-2 on aggregate after extra-time)

Tallaght Stadium erupts as their side claim the tie to progress to the Europa League play-offs, where they will meet PAOK. Rovers are also now guaranteed a place in the Europa Conference League group stages at the very least.

What a night for Bradley, his coaching staff, the players, and everyone involved with the club.

Rovers stopper Leon Pohls makes a magnificent save to keep out Kucys, but the Lithuanian forward is then flagged offside.

And the fourth official has just held up his board, which signals five minutes at the end of extra-time.

Celje are going in search of a goal that would level up the tie and, with their corner cleared away, the ball is put back in and Menalo's volley then rolls wide.

Seán Hoare has had to leave the pitch after receiving treatment but he will be back on imminently.

With Rovers under the cosh a little, Burke takes the ball and brings it forward.

Playing Burns into the corner, Rovers are now content to run down the final few minutes of extra-time.

Watts then gets involved and shows no signs of fatigue after 113 minutes of football.

Rovers have the ball in the back of the net soon after the restart as Darragh Burns capitalises on Celje attempting to play out from the back.

The goal is checked by VAR, and the decision is offside.

Half-time in extra-time and Rovers are 15 minutes away from getting the job done.

Former Newcastle winger and Jamaican international Rolando Aarons is just on, and makes his presence felt with a shot that calls Pohls into action.

Fellow substitute Luka Menalo, who scored last week, then fluffs the follow-up.

The Rovers fans were left deflated by that Celje goal but they have come alive again since Burke's strike.

Rovers needed a bit of magic, and Graham Burke has provided!

Not long off the bench, the Dubliner glides forward and drills a low left-footed effort at goal.

It's a mistake by Celje goalkeeper Stubljar, who lets the ball go underneath his body but, crucially, the Hoops are now back in front – 3-2 on aggregate.

Edmilson wins the loose ball ahead of Lee Grace and it's three v three at the back for Rovers.

Dan Cleary reacts quickest to nullify the attack though. Super defending.

Moments later, Kouter carries the ball into a central area and drives a shot a few yards wide of the post.

Here we go for the first half of extra-time.

Rovers are bringing on another substitution, Darragh Burns.

Shamrock Rovers 2-1 Celje(2-2 on aggregate, extra-time to be played) Dan Cleary launches a free-kick from the halfway line, but it's overcooked and runs out for a throw.

Rovers win possession back but that's the end of regular time and there are another 30 minutes coming up.

The Hoops will be frustrated that they couldn't see out the final minutes but it's still all to play for.

There will be five minutes of additional time after the 90 minutes and we'll be heading for extra-time if there isn't a winning goal by then.
