The Dublin club could be in for a massive payday if they can continue their current run of form in Europe.

Shamrock Rovers have already amassed a whopping amount of prize money during this season’s campaign in Europe, and could earn a whole lot more if they keep winning in the UEFA Conference League.

A loss to Sparta Prague sent them down to the Europa League, where a brilliant comeback against Celje helped them secure a place in the Conference League.

That win earned the Premier Division champions a whopping €3.87 million in prize money.

Tallaght Stadium under the lights on a European night is a force to be reckoned with, and despite being a goal down with 10 men for much of their home clash against APOEL, a Dylan Watts injury time winner secured an all-important draw.

Thanks to that draw, the club’s overall figure earned now stands at approximately €4 million. Had they won the tie, they would have earned an extra €400,000.

That €4m sum can increase further over the coming weeks when Rovers go on to face Larne, TNS, Rapid Wien, Borac Banja Luka, and Chelsea.

The club have already reached the same figure they earned in 2022 when they last played in the group stage of the Conference League and they still have five more matches coming up.

Each win will earn them €400,000, while draws will add around €133,000 to the purse.

If Rovers can finish in the top 24 spots in the league, then they will earn an extra €200,000, while reaching the knockout stage could generate an extra €800,000.

As if their exploits in Europe weren’t impressive enough, the team have an opportunity to win their fifth Premier Division title in a row on Friday week.

They’re two points off leaders Shelbourne with two games to go. That triumph would come with a return to the Champions League, giving the historic club more profits to look forward to next season.
