One of Dublin's oldest restaurants is now closed until further notice due to financial challenges.
The Irish Times reports that a circular has been sent to employees and suppliers in recent days.
The restaurant's owner John Shanahan has reportedly warned that the firm was in an "alarming, almost impossible situation", and indicated there was a meeting with Revenue Commissioners on the horizon to discuss the repayment of tax debts dating back to the COVID pandemic.
He added that as such "until further notice, we will have to cease doing business as usual."
The restaurant is currently not taking bookings via OpenTable.
