Sharon Horgan's gas reaction to meeting British royal
'How Irish can we be in 30 seconds?' Sharon Horgan's gas encounter with British royal
National treasures alert! After that hilarious g**bag revelation on Stephen Colbert, Sharon Horgan has only gone and done it again.
The Bad Sisters creator divulged details of an encounter with the British royal family where her Irishness got the better of her during an appearance on Friday's Late Late Show and it's the funniest thing ever.
Sharon told Patrick Kielty how she and her castmates had been filming the latest series of the hit show when they got a tip-off that Prince Edward was about to pay a visit to the studio.
Inevitably they were performing a scene where the sisters were in fancy dress including Sarah Greene, who plays Bibi, wearing a banana costume and Sharon dressed as a lion and the ridiculousness of the situation became too much.
They became giddy and not realising the royal was right outside, Sharon confessed that she and the girls got a little 'bratty' not unlike when the Spice Girls famously met Prince Charles.
Sharon recalled: 'In episode five we do a bit of karaoke and we're all in fancy dress... we were all in ridiculous fancy dress and Prince Edward... he is really interested in British culture and the studio system and he was there being given a tour of the Apple Studios.
'So he came down and we didn't know when he was coming down and we were all in our ridiculous banana costumes.
'Then we were told he was on his way and we thought it was kind of hilarious so we didn't know how far away he was from us [and] we just got really bratty and started singing the Irish national anthem.
'Then he really was around the corner and we were all micced up and he heard and anyway, it was kind of like when the Spice Girls met Prince Charles. It just brought out this giddy, bratty, how Irish can we be in 30 seconds?'

The royal encounter comes after the cast were previously forced to explain that they are not British after a review in the New York Times credited them all as such.
