ITV Britain's Got Talent viewers say they know how Simon Cowell's head was "set on fire" by a magician. ITV viewers appeared to work out the routine, which consisted of a trick where the illusionist appeared to set judge Simon on fire.

Simon was back on ITV BGT on Sunday night, with fellow judges Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli and Amanda Holden. Simon sat on a chair with a cover placed over his head, which Miki then poured lighter fluid over.

The judge's head was then placed in a box, before Miki set the box on fire. Miki removed the box and revealed Simon was fine - leaving the judges in awe.

"He set your head on fire," Amanda told Simon. She added: "He covered you in lighter fluid." Amanda said: "It was massively entertaining and horrific all at once."

The 52-year-old joked: "For the amount of product that's in that hair, that was a risk" as she pointed at Simon. On Twitter, fans have rumbled how the trick was done.

“A fire proof box sectioned off all round the top and sides, with lighter fluid already doused on beforehand, and water Simon's head completely shielded anyway. This is basic magic that's been done for a century," one said. “Well obviously there was another box round his head and the fire was between the 2 boxes. Acting he didn't know what was happening. Getting too staged now this," fumed another.

Others joked about Simon's new face. "Simon’s face didn’t melt in the heat so you know it’s fake #BGT?" one asked. "Ermm.. I am the only one that thought the burning Simon Cowell head trick was so fake! It’s just a fire proof box within a box," said another.

"Simon's face actually looks burnt omg that was insane, he literally could have just killed him the nutter", said another. A fellow fan typed: "'Brilliant act about setting Simon's head on fire. But Simon was definitely in on it. Brilliant, nonetheless."
