It took a while, but Tommy Hewitt’s Sligo Rovers finally picked up their first win of the season, beating non-league side Terenure Rangers 5-0 to progress to the next round of the Sports Direct Women’s FAI Cup.

Rovers held a 2-0 lead at half-time thanks to Paula McGrory’s first half brace, with the Loughrey sisters scoring one apiece followed by Rebecca Doddy late on to ensure a comfortable victory for the Bit O’Red.
