The new 50 metre by 34 metre all weather facility was officially opened at Solohead GAA club last night.
A great turnout were there as the community came together to see the new facility and the potential it has for the area.
The committee issued an open invite for people to get along and see the club under 7s and under 9s get to run out on the new turf and try out the facility, and the public answered in big numbers.
Solohead GAA club used the occasion to acknowledge the success of some of their underage players who won Divisional and inter county honours in 2023 as well.
Overall the evening was a huge success and Solohead are looking forward to getting the full use out of the new facility.
The club said recently that they are most grateful to Tipperary County Council for funding support via the CLAR Rural development initiative run by the Department of Rural and Community Development and to the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media for funding under the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP).
They also thanked the businesses who contributed sponsorship signs around the field area and they would also like to acknowledge the excellent work of contractor Liam Ryan from Ryan Cooper Fencing on the standard and quality of the work by his team in the construction of this development. It is now open for business.
