Special Olympics Burlington had a special visit last night at Dr. Frank Hayden High School.
They had a visit from Mario Della-Savia, the keeper of the Cup, who brought the Stanley Cup to the Burlington Bobcats' last floor hockey practice of the season.
Della-Savia also spent time with the group and provided a historical overview of the Stanley Cup.
"Being with the Stanley Cup is a night we all will treasure," said Darlene Halchuk, who added they'd been trying all season for the visit to happen. Della-Savia helped to organize the memorable event, and then, thanks to him, it finally happened. "It was an amazing night for the athletes, parents and coaches."
