Comedian Chris is the first ever blind contestant, and winner on the show.

He beat the other finalists JB Gill, Tasha Ghouri and Sarah Hadland to win the glitterball trophy.

It's also the first time Dianne Buswell has won in her career as a Strictly professional dancer.

More Strictly fun

Chris dedicated his win to Dianne, "and for everyone out there who's got told they couldn't do something or thought they couldn't do it".

"It just shows with opportunity and support and determination, anything can happen," he said.

The final which judge Anton du Beke called "the best ever" also included a live performance from Raye and one last routine from the class of 2024.

The finalists all performed three dances: a judges pick, a personal pick and a show dance.

Chris and Diane performed their couple's choice again to the music of Instant Karma by John Lennon.

The dance has a moment which plunges them briefly into darkness, which reflected his experience of blindness.

The routine was one of the standout moments of the series and in the final bought judge Motsi Mabuse to tears.

"Chris, I am a mess because of you, and I said I would not cry in this final," she said.

There was strong competition from the other contestants JB and Lauren, Tasha and Aljaž and Sarah and Vito.

JB and Tasha scored the highest marks from the judges in the final.

They both scored 119 out of a possible 120.

JB and Lauren performed a Show Dance to a Motown Medley and danced their Viennese Waltz to Let's Go Fly A Kite from Mary Poppins again.

JB is the first contestant to change partners during a series after his original professional partner Amy Dowden was forced to pull out with a foot injury.

Tasha and Aljaž danced their American smooth again and a show dance to Sing, Sing, Sing by Benny Goodman.

Tasha who is Strictly's second deaf contestant was also given an amazing surprise on the night when her brother appeared having landed back from Australia without her knowing.

Sarah and Vito dances included a show dance to Cabaret by Metropole Orkest Cabaret and their Cha Cha to Like A Prayer by Madonna.

The judge's scores in the final were only a guide and public vote went to Chris and Dianne, the Strictly Come Dancing 2024 winners!
