Strictly Come Dancing is about to get serious, with the first celebrity set to be eliminated from the show tomorrow night. But there is already a huge difference to last year.

After bosses promised to stop the 'mole' who leaks out the results before the official results show, the infamous Strictly spoiler 'failed' to leak on Saturday night as desperate fans tried to stay awake. One fan wrote on Twitter, rebranded as X: "The later it gets the more I worry that the #StrictlySpoiler will be a shock result lol. Usually in the past when it's this late there's been a shock."

"1:30am and still no spoiler. Maybe we won't get one until the morning," another added with crying face emojis. A third said: "That’s it I tried my best to stay up for the #strictlyspoiler but my eyes are heavy and I just need to sleep."

A number of so-called spoilers did appear, with both claiming a different couple went home. But fans branded them fake and the Strictly spoiler account but had not posted any results by 7am the following morning. An insider previously said: "Now procedures are being put in place to see if the mole can be caught though it’s tricky because there are so many people involved with Strictly but the bosses are determined to nail he or she.”

Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin find themselves in no trouble at all at the top of the leaderboard with 65 points. They got the highest mark in week 2 (36) after receiving all 9s from the judges. Also looking safe are Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice on 61 points. They were second from top in week 2, scoring 32 points.

At the other end of the leaderboard, Nikita Kanda and Gorka Marquez could be in danger of making an early exit - and were the bookies favourites to go before they danced again. They have just 36 points after two weeks. But it is Les Dennis and Nancy Xu who are at the bottom though with 31 points. They have ended up bottom of the leaderboard two weeks in a row.

The judges' scores from week one have been combined with their scores from this Saturday to give each celebrity contestant and professional partner a mark out of 80. The two couples with the lowest scores when added to viewer votes will have to dance-off for a spot in the competition.

Ultimately judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Anton du Beke will decide who goes.
