Pals told of how his seven-year marriage crumbled, with Gillian quitting their home and taking their kids to her mum’s.

The former couple have removed “husband” and “wife” from social media profiles and Gillian failed to mention Hogg in a picture she shared of their new baby.

Hours later Hogg’s new romance was confirmed in a photo showing him and former jockey turned top horse-racing presenter, Leonna Mayor, at Moddershall Oak Country Spa Retreat, in Stoke-on-Trent.

She shared the snap on Monday to her 31,000 Instagram followers, saying: “The least Mondayest Monday ever”, signed off with a ‘loved up’ emoji and featuring Jack Johnson’s song ‘Better Together’.

Yet in July Hogg had stunned fans by quitting rugby — claiming he wanted to spend more time with his family.

A source said: “Gillian is heartbroken. How much does one woman have to take?

''She just gave birth last week. The last thing any new mother would want is to see the father of her children flaunting his new relationship on social media for the world to see?

"It just shows his true colours.”

A second source added: ''She is heartbroken at a vulnerable time, with a new baby and three other kids.

"She supported him through his career, moving away from those she loved and knew. But as soon as they moved back to their hometown, everything came to a head.

“His refusal to leave the family home has meant a huge upheaval for her and the kids but she just couldn’t stay there any longer.”
