Another 'Hunger Games' prequel is set to be released in 2026 after it was revealed that Suzanne Collins is coming out with a new novel. After 'The Hunger Games'’ prequel 'The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' made $337 million at the box office, Lionsgate is eager to make another. Collins announced that she is coming out with another prequel, 'Sunrise on the Reaping', set to come out in 2025. 'Sunrise on the Reaping' will be set 24 years before the events of 'The Hunger Games' saga, starring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen. What we know so far is that the story will begin on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. Haymitch Abernathy, played by Woody Harrelson in the movies, competed in these games and went on to mentor Katniss and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson). "Suzanne Collins is a master storyteller... We couldn’t be more fortunate than to be guided and trusted by a collaborator whose talent and imagination are so consistently brilliant. The Second Quarter Quell is legendary and looms large over the history of the Games," stated Adam Fogelson, Chairman of Lionsgate.
