The fiancé of one of Roy Keane’s four daughters has admitted he has taken advice from the Cork native as he looks forward to a possible match against Ireland this weekend.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who plays for Southampton in the Premier League and is engaged to Leah Keane, was quizzed by the English media on his relationship with Ireland legend Keane during a press conference ahead of England’s Nations League game with Greece on Thursday night.
And while Harwood-Bellis didn’t go into detail about his relationship with Keane Snr, he did acknowledge the importance of having the ear of such an important footballing figure, saying: “Yeah, it’s something that is good and I take a lot of advice.”

Leah is one five grown-up children that Roy Keane has had with his wife Theresa. They have four girls, Shannon, Caragh, Leah and Aleanna, and one boy, Aidan.
Keane recently posted on Instagram about visiting Leah at her home, which he said was 180 miles away from his home in the north of England.
Harwood-Bellis is hoping to make his England full international debut over the next week and, ironically, it could come against Keane’s beloved Ireland at Wembley on Sunday.
Harwood-Bellis meanwhile played all his junior and youth football at Manchester City and had been tipped for a big future under Pep Guardiola until he went on loan to Burnley and then Southampton.
He helped the Saints to promotion from the Championship in May when they beat Leeds in the play-off final at Wembley before joining the south coast club permanently in the summer.
Southampton have struggled badly on their return to the top flight, with just one victory so far, but that hasn’t reflected on Harwood-Bellis’s form. He has scored three times already this season, despite playing at centre-back. His form culminated in a call-up to the full England international squad by Lee Carsley, the interim England manager and former Ireland international.
