Taylor Swift on Friday kicks off the first of three sold-out nights at the Aviva Stadium as The Eras Tour comes to Dublin.

Some fans have travelled from much further than Swifty Dad though - and even without tickets, as Nebraska native Nicole Neemann explains.

One man is in his 'Swifty Dad' era.

Speaking to the Irish Examiner, Jonathan explained how he was here with his daughter Georgina.

The duo weren't able to get tickets for Taylor's gigs in Wembley, but did manage to secure them for tonight in the Aviva.

She made him a t-shirt with Swifty Dad on it for his birthday and they are over to celebrate Georgina's birthday.

Our reporter Nicole Glennon estimates that she has "about 50" friendship bracelets with her - all made using beads from necklaces she found in charity shops!

There is good news on the weather front for any fans heading to Friday evening's performance, as the rain is set to stay away from Dublin.

Showers will be affecting the south west of the island and will roll north-eastwards, but not until after the concert wraps up shortly before 11pm.

Our reporter Nicole Glennon is on site at the Aviva and has already swapped friendship bracelets with a couple of fans from Cork!

Happy Swiftmas to one and all and welcome to our live updates on the first of Taylor Swift's three Irish dates on her record-breaking Eras Tour.

The American superstar's private jet touched down at Dublin Airport shortly after midday, while just across the city, fans were queuing outside the Aviva Stadium at 5am to get the best spots for the gig!
