Both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will be lucky if their reported romance works out, that's according to Stephen A. Smith who hyped up the dating rumours on his show

We may be entering Week 3 of the NFL season, but one of the main storylines so far this campaign has been the love life of Travis Kelce.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end recently became single and came up with an ambitious plan to give Taylor Swift his phone number. Kelce attended Swift's concert at his home Arrowhead Stadium, and made a bracelet he planned to give the singer with his phone number on it.

Initially, it was reported that Kelce had failed in his efforts as Swift doesn't see people before or after shows to preserve her voice. However, according to The Messenger, she ended up meeting with Kelce after all, and the pair have since hung out privately in New York City.

Fans of both Kelce and Swift are loving the reported romance, and former NFL wide receiver Rob Gronkowski also approved of their recent dating activity. Now ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith has given his views on the pair, saying that Kelce is the perfect match for Swift.

"So I’ve heard the Travis Kelce — my brother from another mother, I love that brother he’s one of the coolest people I know — I know he’s possibly dating Taylor Swift," Smith said on the Stephen A. Smith Show. "Taylor Swift, you could do a lot worse.

"But so could he because I haven’t gotten over that Taylor Swift concert. I mean, she was off the chain. Getting that out of the way, Travis Kelce with Taylor Swift… that’s not bad. That’s not bad now."

After hyping up Kelce, Smith then spoke highly of Swift by speaking about her incredible career. Kelce may be a two-time Super Bowl winner in his NFL career, but there aren't many singers more successful than Swift as she is idolised by millions around the world.

"I sincerely doubt that Travis Kelce will find anyone more successful than her," Smith added. "I mean she made over $5 billion (£4.04 billion) in this concert tour. Travis Kelce is a Super Bowl champion — champions like champions. My brother, more power to you."

The romance has attracted so much interest that even Jason Kelce, brother of Travis, was asked about it after the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Minnesota Vikings on "Thursday Night Football." But just like Travis and Swift, Jason kept quiet on the rumours.

"Ever since [the TV show] ‘Catching Kelce,’ everybody has been infatuated with Travis’ love life," Jason said. "I don’t really know what’s going on there. I know Trav is having fun."
