An eager Taylor Swift fan has dropped over €3,000 to nab four tickets to the pop superstar's show this weekend after an "unbelievable" bidding war - and the cash is all going to help a youth centre in West Cork.

Hopeful fans were fighting over the highly sought-after tickets in a fundraiser for the Kinsale Youth Community Centre (KYCC).

Within a matter of hours, the bidding bonanza went from a couple of hundred euros to thousands as Swifties battled it out for the coveted concert passes.

The winning bidder scored the lot for €3,500 and will be heading to see Taylor Swift's concert at the Aviva in Dublin on Saturday.

Community Centre Co-ordinator Sean Kirschhofer told us that he never expected such a huge reaction, but said it will be a brilliant cash boost for the young people who attend the community centre.

The four Taylor tickets are valued at around €550 and were donated to the youth centre last night by a local who said they could no longer attend the concert. They offered them to Sean to see if he could use them to raise some money for the non-profit youth service.

"It's mad isn't it?," said Sean, who ran the online auction through the KYCC Facebook page, "I was expecting maybe it would get up to €1,000, but it's unbelievable."

"We're a not-for-profit organisation, we don't get the funding that other charities do so we rely on the goodwill of the community, and it will go a long way in helping the young people at the centre."

The volunteer-led centre is in the heart of Kinsale, and supports thousands of young people in West Cork through a range of free services and social events, including weekly programmes, organised talks, sports, music and activities.

Elsewhere another Cork superfan Swiftie will be attending the Eras Tour after a good Samaritan helped her secure her seat. Twelve-year-old Amelia made national headlines after her mum's desperate plea for Taylor tickets.

After a kind stranger heard Amelia's mum on the radio, he gave her two tickets at face value - despite similar seats being resold for thousands of euros - saying that as much as he would enjoy the show, he knew die-hard fan Amerlia would enjoy it the most.
