Festive food recalls from Tesco, Aldi, and Morrisons

Tesco and Aldi are among the supermarket giants who have had to issue urgent recalls on several Christmas food products over fears they might be "unsafe". This action comes in light of issues such as incorrect labelling or the potential presence of foreign objects.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) requires product recalls for various reasons, which can include unlisted allergens or finding non-food materials within the products. When a recall is announced, the FSA will provide details on what consumers should do, including an explanation for the withdrawal.

Generally, the refund process is simple; customers can typically get their money back without presenting a receipt. Join the North Wales Live WhatsApp community group where you can get the latest stories delivered straight to your phone

Pack size: 125g.

Use by: 24 January 2025.

The FSA warned: "If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the Tesco store for a full refund. For further information, please contact customer service team on 0800 505 555."

Red Cabbage and Apple

The date on the packaging is incorrect

Tesco is recalling its Red Cabbage and Apple 300G due to incorrect labelling that could make the item unsafe if consumed after the intended use-by date. The affected products are marked with a use-by date of December 29 instead of the correct date, December 11.

The FSA cautioned: "An extension of the Use by Date could pose a risk to health, if the product is kept past the correct shelf life of the product. If you have bought the above product, please do not eat it. Instead return it to any Tesco store for a full refund (no receipt required) or contact the Tesco Customer Service on 0800 505 555."

Additionally, Morrisons has recalled its Crushed Garlic 75g, with a best before date of 19.10. 25, as it lacks an ingredient necessary to prevent microbiological growth, posing a potential health risk.

Morrisons has apologised for any inconvenience caused and reassures customers of their commitment to high standards of product quality and safety. Customers are advised not to eat the product and to return it to their nearest store for a full refund, no receipt required.

Aldi's Let's Party Vegetable Bao Buns, which you may have bought and stored in the freezer for festive gatherings, are being urgently recalled by the supermarket chain due to an undeclared allergen (sesame), as well as duck meat not listed on the packaging. This could pose a health risk to anyone with a sesame allergy.
