An urgent warning has been issued to shoppers in the UK after Tesco pulled a popular Christmas dinner item from their shelves due to a potential safety issue.
The supermarket giant is recalling its Tesco Red Cabbage and Apple 300G from its UK stores because of incorrect labelling on the package that could make the product unsafe for consumption.
Due to a packaging error, the affected items incorrectly display a Use By date of December 29, when the correct date should be December 11. This mistake could lead to the red cabbage and apple mix being consumed past its intended shelf life, posing a health risk.

Posting the recall notice online, the UK's Food Standards Agency explained: “An extension of the use by date could pose a risk to health, if the product is kept past the correct shelf life of the product."
Tesco have apologised for any inconvenience caused and is urging customers to check their fridges for the product.
The product is marked with a 'not for EU' label, so Irish shoppers are not affected by the product recall.
However, Tesco customers in Northern Ireland who have purchased the product are advised not to eat it. Instead, they are asked to return it to any Tesco store where they will be given a full refund without the need for a receipt. For further help, individuals can contact Tesco Customer Service on 0800 505 555.
