Youth soccer games come to an end this weekend for the Christmas ...
THIS weekend will be the last action in the Daly Industrial Supplies Cork Youth League’s before the Christmas break and some of the Leagues are taking shape with teams sitting very prominent on top of their respective tables.
In the U17 Premier League Douglas Hall and College Corinthians share top spot on 15 points, however, the Hall have a game less played and Mallow Town are in third place on 13 points after six games.
The Town play Douglas tomorrow at the Mallow Racetrack and they have a change to overtake them at the top of the table with a victory. Elsewhere, the Cors must travel to Ballea Park to play Carrigaline United in what could be a difficult game for them.
There’s only two U17 League 1 fixtures down for decision where high flying Rockmount play Bandon at Town Park and St Mary's will want to build on their 2-0 victory against Mallow Untied when they welcome Everton to St Mary's Park.
In the U17 League 3, Blarney United could move into second place with a win over fourth place Macroom when they play at O’Shea Park at 4.30pm, while Leeds entertain Bandon at Leeds Park with a 2pm kickoff.
The only U19 League 1 game is second placed Everton locking horns with third place Ringmahon Rangers at Ringmahon Park at 11am.
The Ringer’s have only lost one game to date and after beating Kinsale 4-0 last weekend in the League Cup they will be looking to Joshua Suleiman who banged a hat-trick and Kyle Leahy in that game to get maximum point in this difficult fixture.
The U18 Premier League is probably the most competitive Division in the Youth League with six teams neck and neck together.
The two big games on Sunday is the meeting of leaders Blarney United and the second placed Douglas Hall at O’Shea Park at 4.30pm and Rockmount who sit third play fourth place Carrigaline United at Ballea.
Douglas are still unbeaten in all competitions this year and they will be looking to Ronan O’Shea and Harry Walsh to keep the winning run going and move to the top of the table.
Elsewhere, College Corinthians take on Midleton at Castletreasure, while Ringmahon Rangers must travel to the Steven Ireland Astro to play Springfield Ramblers at 6pm.
In the U18 League 1, Mallow United could take top spot and overtake Leeside in the Division if they beat Crosshaven when they play at Camden.
Both these sides crashed out of the League Cup to Premier teams last weekend and they will be eager to get back to winning ways.
Kinsale are also going well in third place with 13 points after six games and they will be looking to get a favourable result when they play Mayfield United at Mayfield Park.
In the U18 League 2 highflying Buttevant have a weekend off sit on top of the table on 27 points after nine games and are 13 points ahead of second placed Kilmichael Rovers.
