"Hawk Tuah" girl Hailey Welsh skyrocketed to internet fame earlier this month after a street interview video featuring her went viral on Instagram and TikTok.

Her spontaneous response to a question about what drives men crazy sparked a meme frenzy.

Recently, rumours swirled that Welsh faced job repercussions due to her viral fame. A dubious Facebook post from the Tippah County Tribune claimed she was forced to resign from her position as a preschool teacher at the Epstein Day School. The post even included a purported statement from the school's director.

Fans concerned about the potential negative impact on Welsh's career can breathe a sigh of relief.

According to DailyDot.com, the Tippah County Tribune is known for satire, as stated in its description, "Tippah County's #1 Publication For Satirical Laughs."

Several clues, including the misnaming of Welsh as "Hailey Wellington" and the implausible details in the director's statement, signalled the story's fictitious nature. The fabricated story even mentioned children’s newfound zeal for dusting in the second half of the statement, underscoring its comedic intent.

"One positive outcome the kids took from Miss Hailey’s interview is that parents have informed us their kids are ‘dusting the cobwebs off everything’ in their homes to earn extra allowance money. The parents are happily awestruck of their children’s newfound enthusiasm towards dusting."

The viral “hawk tuah” trend started when YouTubers Tim & Dee TV shared a clip of street interviews with partygoers on their YouTube channel. In one snippet, a girl responded to an NSFW question with a Southern accent, saying, "Oh, you gotta give him that hawk tuah and spit on that thang! You get me?"

The video, first shared on June 11, quickly caught the attention of TikTokers, who turned her response into a meme. The "hawk tuah” girl, identified only by her first name Hailey from Tennessee, became an instant hit.
