Aimee Connolly finishes Dublin Marathon in incredible time
Aimee Connolly was emotional as she finished the Dublin Marathon today in an incredible time for a first-time runner.
The Sculpted By Aimee founder, 31, joined over 17,000 people today as they ran through the streets of the capital and appeared to be loving every minute.
The businesswomen proved she's talented at everything she turns her hand (or legs) to as she competed the marathon under four hours, crossing the finish line in a time of 3:59:53 - three hours, 59 minutes, and 53 seconds.
She shared pictures of her before and after the run as well as videos of her running the 42km course and said that she's 'never felt a buzz like it'.
The makeup mogul posted a fresh-faced selfie on Sunday morning ahead of the marathon writing: 'Best of luck to everyone in the Dublin City Marathon today. The gorgeous messages so far nearly have [me] emotional. Hope any first-timers are as nervous as me.'
She admitted she was 'close to tears' as she shared an update after crossing the finish line, writing: 'Too close to tears to get words out. Dublin City Marathon in under 4hours COMPLETE!!!!'
Amy shared some of her training journey on social media ahead of the big race and also completed the Dublin Half Marathon in the lead up to the full marathon.
She was running the Dublin Marathon in aid of Debra Ireland, the same charity that Colin Farrell was running the marathon for, and has already raised €1,300 on her GoFundMe page.
Meanwhile, Hollywood actor Colin Farrell also ran the Dublin City Marathon to raise money for Debra Ireland and completed the course in a time of 4:06:45.
He was joined on the last 4km by his close pal Emma Fogarty, who suffers from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) otherwise known as butterfly skin, and he pushed her wheelchair the last stretch over the finish line.
The poignant gesture was to symbolise the four decades of her life, as she gears up to turn 40 this year, and Colin's marathon effort has already been successful in raising a whopping €700,000 for the charity and now hope to reach €1 million.
Congratulations to everyone who took part!
