Tennis ace Tommy Paul may have been the one to clinch the title at Queen's Club over the weekend - but it's his girlfriend who's hogging the limelight on social media.

The 27-year-old triumphed over Italian Lorenzo Musetti with a 6-1, 7-6 victory in just over 80 minutes, bagging his third career title and becoming the first American to win at the tournament since Sam Querrey in 2010. However, as he lifted the prestigious trophy, all eyes were on Paul's girlfriend, social media influencer Paige Lorenze.

Lorenze, aged 26 and a star on Instagram and YouTube, sparked a frenzy online when she joined her beau on the court post-victory, taking centre stage with the trophy while the Queen's Club champ looked on somewhat bemused by her eagerness to share the spotlight. Social media users didn't miss a beat, commenting on the cringe-worthy scene.

"So awkward. Like why is she pulling his neck so much? How did she even reach there? I've never seen a player's companion with them on the court after a win," remarked one user, via the Express. "That is wayyyyyyyy out of control." concurred another.

One tweet summed up the sentiment, which read: "If Tommy Paul's girlfriend could, she would kick him and pose with the trophy herself." Lorenze, who boasts a whopping 630,000 followers on Instagram, shared more snaps from Paul's victory, including one where she's seen standing on the court, gazing at the coveted trophy.

His triumph at Queen's has now put him in the same league as American tennis legends like Pete Sampras, Jimmy Connors and Andy Roddick, all of whom have savoured success at this prestigious tournament. Paul, who ousted British talent Jack Draper on route to the final, has now ascended to the top spot in US tennis following his win and is set to enter Wimbledon as the United States' big hope.

His recent victory could also be a good omen for his performance at the tournament, given that two of the last three Queen's champions have made it to the SW19 final. Matteo Berrettini did so in 2021 but fell short, while Carlos Alcaraz clinched the title in both 2021 and 2023, going on to secure the Grand Slam trophy last year.
