Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a lucrative multi-year deal with Adidas, which makes him one of the highest paid players for a boot deal in Europe.

It brings to an end the England international’s long association with American sportswear brand Under Armour, with whom he first linked up in 2017.

Alexander-Arnold has been made one of the faces of the next generation of Adidas Predator boots, joining the likes of Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Barcelona’s Pedri.

The 25-year-old decided to make the switch following positive discussions with the German company about their plans for him, and Adidas regard it as a major coup given the player’s global profile and huge commercial appeal.

Alexander-Arnold wore a pair of unreleased Adidas Predator boots in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City at the Etihad when he rescued a point for Liverpool with a sweetly struck equaliser 10 minutes from time.

The dynamic right-back is closing in on 300 appearances for his boyhood club and has embraced taking on greater responsibility after being given the vice-captaincy by Jurgen Klopp this season.

Alexander-Arnold has spearheaded Liverpool’s resurgence in a hybrid role where he steps into midfield when they are in possession.

He has also forced his way back into the England team under Gareth Southgate and started both of the recent internationals against Malta and North Macedonia in midfield.
