· 1 min readTurkey have climbed to their highest-ever position of 83rd in the World Rugby Men's Rankings on the back of a 49-10 win over Bulgaria in Pool C of the 2024-25 Rugby Europe Men's Conference.
It was Turkey's first win over Bulgaria at the fourth attempt and only their second in history after a 28-26 win in 2015. While Turkey have climbed the rankings by five places, Bulgaria have dropped four to 67th.
Moldova, who beat Turkey in their first game of the campaign the previous weekend, made it two wins from two with a 31-3 win away to Serbia, and have been rewarded with a new ranking of 57th. Serbia have fallen three places to 85th.
Having been beaten by Finland in last year's encounter, Denmark turned the tables on their Scandanavian rivals in emphatic style with a 42-0 victory in Fredericia making them the higher-ranked of the two nations.
Denmark now occupy 72nd place following a gain of six places, while Finland are down a couple to 78th.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's 30-20 win over Montenegro and Malta's 43-21 victory over Cyprus did not count towards the rankings as they both matches featured a team that is not a full member union of World Rugby.
In the final match of Phase Two of the South American qualifiers for Men's Rugby World Cup 2027, Chile beat Brazil 36-10. Los Condores picked up 0.21 points as a result of the win but they remain in 21st place in the rankings with Brazil staying put in 29th.
