While Conor McGregor is eyeing a return by the end of this year on December 16, the UFC is preparing for their next international events. Shaw claims that there are talks being held about potential events in the UK and Ireland.

Dana White wasn’t available for the post-fight press conference in France. So senior vice president Dave Shaw took up the responsibilities. Seeing that the promotion is frequently hosting events internationally, a reporter asked Shaw if they considering a show in the UK and Ireland. He said, “Yes we are, we are.”

Dave Shaw mentioned that he had mentioned hosting an event in the Irish capital a few months ago. The last time Conor McGregor fought in Dublin was in 2014. Additionally, he also mentioned that it has been some time since they had a UFC event in Glasgow as well. “I mean, we talked about Dublin last time. It’s been a while since we’ve been to Glasgow,” said Dave Shaw. Furthermore, he also mentioned that one fighter was trying to get the UFC to come to his country.

Scottish fighter urged the UFC to host an event in Glasgow

The reporters mentioned how passionate middleweight fighter Paul Craig was for the UFC to come to Glasgow. The senior vice president then mentioned that the Scottish fighter was trying to urge the UFC for that opportunity as well. Shaw said, “I know that Paul [Craig] was trying to curry a little favor for that opportunity.”

Moreover, Dave Shaw mentioned another location that he wanted the UFC to come to while mentioning that they are working to consider other locations throughout the United Kingdom. “We haven’t been to Manchester in a long time. So, yeah, we are absolutely looking at different destinations throughout the UK,” said the senior vice president.
