"This is reckless. That's something we don't want to see on the rugby pitch," says Tommy Bowe of Josh Murphy's red card.

John Cooney and Stewart Moore celebrate Ulster's victory.

"It's such a fierce battle every time we play them," says man-of-the-match John Cooney.

"My rugby was good, my kicking off the tee wasn't so good. But I really enjoyed that game, feel really good physically, this is my home, and felt great for the eighty minutes."

Ulster power to victory. Nick Timoney's try was the decisive score late on.

Josh Murphy's red card came at a critical time, costing Connacht dearly but they finish with two losing bonus points.

It was a tough, physical inter-pro battle but it's Ulster who grind out the win, getting back on track after losing two of their first three games prior to this one. John Cooney was the man-of-the-match having notched an opportunistic try against his old club.

It's all friendship now after what was at times a tense battle, with Connacht clapping Ulster off the pitch with a guard of honour.

Josh Ioane splits the posts with the last kick of the game, earning a second losing bonus point for Connacht.

Watch Timoney's score here.

Jacob Stockdale knocks on from the kick-off giving Connacht a scrum in a promising opportunity.

John Cooney meanwhile has been named as the official man-of-the-match.

Cooney pushes the conversion just right of the posts but the Ulster men remain in control with just two minutes to go.

And they do. Nick Timoney powers over, capitalising on the brilliant attacking position they found themselves in. A gap opened up at the back of the Connacht maul and Timoney darted through it.

Beautiful play from Ulster there and they have a line-out deep in Connacht territory. They could seal it here.

For early engagement by Connacht in the scrum.

But their fly half Josh Ioane lets Ulster away with it, shaving too much off and missing the touch. Scrum for Ulster now in midfield.

Cooney makes Connacht pay for their indiscipline, splitting the posts from 30 yards.

Straight red for Murphy for that off-the-ball shoulder to the head. Huge blow for Connacht with ten minutes left.

Connacht are too slow taking a line-out and the referee penalises them, giving Ulster a penalty which they take quickly. They play onto eventually win another penalty, and this one is kickable.

Connacht's Josh Murphy looks to be in serious trouble after shouldering an Ulster man into the head. Murphy was yellow carded earlier on in the game.

Here's the Dylan Tierney Martin try that brought Connacht right back into it.

Ulster win a relieving penalty as Connacht attacked with pace. It was a brilliant piece of defence from the sliding Nathan Doak who earns his team a vital reprieve as Connacht hunted a score that would have put them in the lead for the first time today. Doak finds a good touch with a powerful smack of the right foot.

Connacht win another penalty in the midfield after some clever stuff from David O'Connor for Connacht who manipulates the penalty.

There's blood coming from Finlay Bealham's eye, with the referee telling him he'll need to go off to get cleaned up. An unfazed Bealham looked eager to plough on.

Connacht are on the attack.
