After acknowledging customers saw Urban Outfitters as "expensive", head execs have now promised shoppers "we heard you".

A green banner at the top of a page of the retailer’s website reads: “We heard you. We were a lot.

"We’re lowering prices on over a hundred of your favorite styles.”

Some 100 items were listed in the price drop last week.

A $25 plain T-shirt in nearly a dozen color options was included alongside a $29 mesh cropped cami.

A $69 strapless midi dress was also in the sale.

Shea Jensen, president of the Urban Outfitters (UO) brand for North America, admitted this summer that research had been conducted to offer better prices.

He said: “Yes, we've done a lot of research, and we heard very clearly that customers perceive us as expensive.

“We are attacking that full force, and we've made the commitment to offer the best price value for every item we sell.”

It comes just months after the final Brooklyn, New York store was closed for good.

UO had been in the Cobble Hill neighborhood for 17 years - but had its final day on June 23 this year.

A note on the shop windows read: "This Urban Outfitters is closed indefinitely please redirect any business/returns to any Urban Outfitters in Manhattan or Long Island."

This closure came quickly after another Brooklyn branch disappeared a few weeks before.

Another store in Williamsburg closed in April.

Despite the locked doors and window sign, this location has still been listed as open on the retailer's website.

UO is known for its trendy clothes and other cool items like vinyl records and even furniture.
