Met Eireann has given their verdict on if Ireland will get a white Christmas.
After several days of snow last week, people are wondering if we will get any snowfall around the holidays, with many hoping we will get a traditional Christmas Day.
Looking ahead, Met Eireann confirmed their long-range forecast and predicted what weather conditions we can expect in December.

Between Monday, 2 December and Sunday, 8 December, high pressure situated near Ireland will generate a predominately southerly airflow, leading to temperatures higher than average for the time of year.
Met.ie wrote: “Precipitation amounts for Ireland will also likely be lower than average for early December.”
Monday, 9 December to Sunday, 15 December, there will be similar conditions with high pressure likely nearby for most of the week, again bringing warmer than average temperatures, along with lower than average precipitation amounts overall.
However parts of the northwest may end up with near average precipitation amounts.
Moving into the next week, there are less clear signals for any pressure pattern dominating between Monday, 16 December to Sunday, 22 December.
The national forecast says: “There is however a slight signal again for high pressure, likely leading to below average precipitation amounts, along with higher than average temperatures for the time of year.”
The weather between Monday, 23 December to Sunday, 29 December, indications are mixed.
“There is however a slight signal for higher than average precipitation amounts for late December, along with higher than average temperatures,” they added.

Wednesday, 27 NovemberFrost and fog will lead to tricky travelling conditions in some areas this morning, especially in the Midlands. A cold and frosty start today with areas of fog slowly clearing to leave a mostly dry day with spells of sunshine. However, a few showers may occur early on near the north and east coast. Highs of just 3 to 7 degrees, but colder where any fog lingers through the day. Breezes light northerly or variable in direction.
Cold again tonight with widespread frost and some icy patches. Fog is likely to form extensively, turning dense in some areas. Lowest temperatures of -3 to zero degrees generally but turning less cold overnight across the southern half of the country with rain developing in south Munster by the end of the night.
Thursday, 28 NovemberThere'll be some hazy sunshine to start the day in the north and east on Thursday but cloudy and damp in the south and west with outbreaks of rain developing. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will extend across most of the country during the afternoon but rainfall totals will be small in Leinster and east Ulster with some areas holding dry. Highest temperatures of 7 to 13 degrees with fresh and gusty southeast winds and gales in Atlantic coastal areas.
Breezy on Thursday night with outbreaks of rain and drizzle across the western half of the country with some heavy falls. It looks set to stay largely dry further east apart from the odd spot of rain or drizzle. A mild night with lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in fresh and gusty southerly winds.
Friday, 29 NovemberIt looks set to be a cloudy and rather damp day on Friday with outbreaks of rain pushing northwards over the country. A clearance to scattered showers will follow from the Atlantic to southern and western counties during the evening. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh and gusty southerly winds. Mostly cloudy on Friday night with a few patches of rain, drizzle and mist but overall plenty of dry weather. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.
Saturday, 30 NovemberBreezy on Saturday with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. More persistent rain will develop in Atlantic coastal counties during Saturday afternoon. A mild day with highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees in fresh and gusty southerly winds. Further outbreaks of rain on Saturday night, turning heavy in places with the chance of spot flooding. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in moderate southwest winds.
Sunday, 1 DecemberOutbreaks of rain across the eastern half of the country early on Sunday with a clearance to sunny spells and showers developing in the west. Sunny spells and scattered showers will extend to all areas during the course of the afternoon. Maximum afternoon temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in moderate southwest to west winds.
