The Smashing Pumpkins fans have said they have been left anxiously waiting for their tickets for the band’s Co-op Live show with just two days to go.

The band will join Weezer for a huge co-headline show on Thursday evening (June 13) at the Eastlands music venue. But a number of fans who ordered their tickets through Gigs & Tours said they have still to receive their tickets - and fear they might not even be going to the show.

One fan, Martin Ette, told the Manchester Evening News that he is travelling up from Coventry with a friend and is yet to receive the two tickets to the show. “I bought the tickets in April, and I've tried to establish when they’re going to deliver them,” he explained. “The show is in two day’s time and we still haven’t got them.”

“I still don’t know whether we will be going to the show, or whether we will be spending the day shopping in Manchester instead. We have already paid for the hotel and travel, so we’ll be coming to Manchester either way, but they’ve kept it until the very last minute.

"My friend has been wanting to watch The Smashing Pumpkins for 20 years and they are going to be really upset if we can no longer go after waiting for so long to see them."

Posting on Reddit, other fans said they have also been anxiously awaiting the arrival of their tickets. One person wrote: "Did anyone else buy G&T presale tickets back in October? Having no luck getting my tickets. Co-op Live tell me to speak to G&T. G&T tell me to speak to Co-op Live. Other than a generic email from G&T last week saying they haven’t forgotten about the tickets I’ve had no comms and no way of receiving the tickets for Thursday."

In response to the initial Reddit post, others shared that they were in a similar boat. "You're not alone. I haven't received anything yet," one said. Another said: "Same. Bit concerned about it to be honest."

Martin told the M.E.N he had reached out to both the ticket platform and Co-op Live directly for clarification on the matter - he finally got a response this morning (June 11). He said: “I’ve sent them about 20 emails over the last several days, and I’ve had no response until today. Before then, we were being passed from the venue to the ticket platform and back.

In the latest email, Gigs & Tours told Martin that a change had been made to the tickets for the show. The email said: “Instead of venue digital tickets, all tickets will now be e-tickets issued by Gigs and Tours. Your tickets will no longer be fulfilled by the venue. Your e-tickets will be emailed to you shortly following this email.”

First announced in October last year, the two bands will join forces for a five-day tour across the UK and Ireland. Genre-bending band The Smashing Pumpkins first formed in 1988 and have sold more than 30 million records, whilst Weezer have sold more than 35 million records since their formation in 1994.

The tour kicked off in Birmingham on Friday (June 7) before taking in dates at London's The O2 and Dublin's 3Arena. The two bands will perform in Glasgow on Wednesday, before the Manchester show on Thursday. They will end the shows with a gig at Cardiff Castle on Friday.

It is not yet understood the reasons for the delays in sending out tickets. A spokesperson for Co-op Live said that, as of 4.20pm, all tickets should have been issued for the show on Thursday. Gigs & Tours, which is managed by See Tickets on behalf of SJM Concerts, has also been approached by the M.E.N for further details.
