Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp all down as users report ...
Meta is said to have experienced a major global outage with thousands of users reporting Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp issues.
There was a sharp increase in reported outages from users of these various services , according to Downdetector.com.
Ireland, the UK and parts of Europe, the US, Asia, Australia and South America are experiencing glitches.
The company’s systems appear to have suffered a major technical issue at around 6pm Irish time, or 10 am local pacific time.
But they appeared to quickly recover and most of the company’s apps appeared to be functioning as normal within the hour, though some did report problems with specific parts of certain apps.
According to Downdetector, Facebook outages were first reported at about 6pm on Wednesday and have reached more than 100,000 complaints of an issue.
