Wolfe Tones 2-6

Eire Og Corra Choill are the Westgrove Hotel U23 B Hurling Champions after an eleven point win over the Sallins and Kill amalgamation of Wolfe Tones.

Eire Og were comfortable for most parts until a late goal burst from Wolfe Tones but Eire Og finished the stronger to add two of their own.

Paul Dolan was prominent throughout that opening 30 minutes hitting 1-4 from play as Wolfe Tones struggled to get to grips with the Eire Og CC attack.

Dan Murray got his name on the board shortly after before Jack Couch, from a free, pointed the opener for Wolfe Tones.
Couch added two further frees before the break but Eire Og lead 1-9 to 0-4 after 30 minutes. Wolfe Tones task became all the more difficult five minutes before the break when Reece Donohue saw red for a wild pull on Darragh O'Shaughnessey.
The two Jacks, McGovern and Higgins added two points each for Eire Og to leave that eight point buffer.

Eire Og Corra Choill continued their second half dominance and the introduction of Scott Cramer around the middle gave them extra impetus and they quickly added points from Cramer and Paul Dolan.

Aaron Carney with two and Jack Couch both added frees to leave it 1-13 to 0-6 as we entered the closing nine minutes.

Both sides wasted chances before Conor Egan struck for an unlikely Wolfe Tones goal. Straight from the puck out Jack Couch got forward to add a second and suddenly Eire Og were only four ahead and with a battle on their hands.
The more experienced Donore outfit hit back and late goals from Scott Cramer and Brian Merrigan secured a deserved victory.

Eire Og Corra Choill had the advantage of a good number of their Senior panel and that experience was enough to see them over the line.

Wolfe Tones never gave up although losing out by eleven they did give themselves a chance over the closing minutes.
