LionHeart to recite exclusive spoken-word poem at Dezeen Awards ...

Dezeen Awards, in partnership with Bentley, has announced that poet LionHeart will deliver a spoken-word poem created exclusively for the Dezeen Awards 2024 party in London on 26 November.

Taking place at Hackney Church, which will be transformed by an awards-show design by Hingston Studio, LionHeart's recital will preface celebrations for the 266 projects vying for accolades this year.

Categories include overall projects of the year, designers of the year and the Bentley Lighthouse Award.

LionHeart, who explores architecture's connection to memory and mental health through spoken word and film, will star alongside headline acts Joe Goddard and DJ Lou Hayter at the eighth annual Dezeen Awards ceremony.

He will recite a bespoke poem that reflects on creative endeavour as a force for good.

The spoken-word poet is the artist in residence at the Fallingwater Institute, a position he has previously held at institutions and firms including Saatchi Gallery, Grimshaw Architects, Snøhetta, Junya Ishigami, PLP Architecture, Squire and Partners and 180 The Strand.

Former BBC Radio London presenter LionHeart is also an associate artist at the Royal Albert Hall and an honorary fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects for his contribution to architecture.
