For decades, the name Vince McMahon was synonymous with one thing – wrestling.

His WWE wrestling empire had just signed a multi-billion-dollar deal with Netflix, the road to the Royal Rumble was a ratings success, and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was back. Life was good for the sports entrepreneur.

That changed overnight when one of McMahon’s former employees came forward with horrific allegations of sexual abuse and trafficking.

The accusations being made by Janel Grant have shocked the world and led to McMahon resigning as CEO of his once family-owned company. He has said publicly that the allegations are false and promised to "defend" his name in court.

The controversy has again been thrust back into the spotlight with the recent release of the Netflix docuseries Mr. McMahon.

Denise Calnan is joined on the Indo Daily by the Irish Independent’s Dave Hanratty to look at the shocking allegations being made against McMahon and ask – is this the end of his wrestling dynasty?

This episode originally aired in February 2024 and contains descriptions of alleged sexual abuse which some listeners may find distressing.
