PICS: Inside Virgin Media's Zara King's Pink Bridal Shower

She is seen delivering the news on our TV screens every night so it would be easy to forget that Zara King is also busy planning a wedding in the background!

The Virgin Media reporter got engaged last September to her mystery partner, whose identity she is choosing to keep private, after a year of dating.

And the Waterford woman is wasting no time in walking down the aisle, with the date and venue set for this summer in West Cork.

But in the midst of all the wedding planning, every bride-to-be deserves some girl time and Zara got just that at her bridal shower this weekend.

Zara's closest friends and family got together to spoil her at her pink-themed bridal bash on Saturday. The attendees included her three bridesmaids as well as her cousins and a familiar face from Ireland AM, Muireann O’Connell.

In line with the theme, there was a pink balloon arc and decorations on the night, with the bridesmaids wearing pink-striped pajamas and Zara wearing a bridal veil.

By the sounds of it, Zara was in need of time out as she recently told EVOKE that she underestimated the amount of work involved in planning a wedding - but said she wanted to get married this year rather than 'drag it out'.

She said: 'We're getting married this summer, we still have loads to organise but I'm loving it. I underestimated how much work it is to plan a wedding. I didn't really want to drag organising something out over two years.

'I don't think I have the time or the concentration to do it over two years, but then it's funny because you ring people to book things, and they are like "most people have that booked from two years ago" and I'm like ahhh!'
