German tennis player Alexander Zverev has asked Pep Guardiola to return to coaching Bayern Munich, despite their recent hiring of Vincent Kompany. He jokingly suggested that if Guardiola gets bored of football, he can coach him on a tennis court instead.

The Spanish coach was seen at Wimbledon's Centre Court on Saturday watching Zverev's match against British player Cameron Norrie. After securing victory, Zverev addressed Guardiola in his post-match interview.

"We had some amazing people in the royal box today, a football legend like Pep Guardiola. Seeing Pep made me nervous for several games. It's a privilege to play in front of you," said Zverev, who also made a request.

"Bayern needs a coach, and if you ever get tired of football, you can coach me," Zverev joked, momentarily forgetting that Bayern had already secured Vincent Kompany after Thomas Tuchel's departure and a tumultuous search for a new coach.

He also playfully extended an offer, saying, "If you ever get bored of football, you can coach me on the tennis court whenever you like." After the match, Guardiola and Zverev had a lengthy conversation backstage at Centre Court.
