No, you’re not seeing double: Three pairs of celebrities rocked wrist candy by the same watchmaker this past week.
Kevin Hart wore an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak tourbillon to receive the Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, while John Legend sported an AP Royal Oak chronograph on stage at The Voices of Beauty Summit. Similarly, Barry Keoghan flaunted an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra to the launch of Tyler, the Creator’s Louis Vuitton collection, as Glen Powell showed off an Omega Constellation at—where else—a Lakers game. Finally, Formula 1 stars Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc both rocked bonkers Richard Mille timepieces at the Australian Grand Prix.
The outlier was Dan Stevens. The British actor donned a Panerai Luminor Due for the premiere of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, though we didn’t see any other celebs in notable Panerai timepieces this week. His co-star Brian Tyree Henry did wear a Rolex to the premiere, though.
Below are the best watch flexes of the week.
Kevin Hart reaffirmed his position as one of the country’s best comedians and watch collectors this week. The funnyman received the prize for American Humor at the 25th Annual Mark Twain Awards with a glitzy new Audemars Piguet on his wrist. Released only a few weeks ago, this iced-out version of AP’s extra-thin flying tourbillon showcases a 37 mm white-gold case, a dark blue smoked dial, and a shiny bezel set with baguette-cut diamonds. For added pizzaz, the watch features diamond hour markers and a tourbillon cage at 6 o’clock. You know the drill: price is available upon request.
Barry Keoghan: Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Image Credit: Omega/GettyBarry Keoghan dressed in Louis Vuitton to celebrate Tyler, the Creator’s debut collection with the French label, but he didn’t wear a Tambour on his wrist. Instead, the Irish actor sported another one of his Omega timepieces at the launch of the new menswear line. The Saltburn star has previously rocked a De Ville Trésor, a Seamaster Planet Ocean, a Constellation Globemaster, and a Speedmaster, but he opted for a Seamaster Aqua Terra on this occasion. Priced at $40,400, the glitzy timepiece features a 38 mm Sedna gold case, a diamond-set bezel, and a bold red strap. The pièce de résistance is the dial, which sees 191 diamonds arranged in an eye-catching wave pattern and radiant marquise-cut rubies as hour markers. Forget the Tambour.
Charles Leclerc: Richard Mille RM 72-01 Image Credit: Richard Mille/GettyThe Richard Mille F1 star Charles Leclerc wore during the Australian Grand Prix is as complex as his Ferrari race car. The RM 72-01 is equipped with the watchmaker’s first in-house flyback chronograph, in fact. The automatic movement can be fully appreciated via the openworked dial, which features a date display at 7 o’clock, a 60-minute counter at 2 o’clock, a 24-hour counter at 5 o’clock, and a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock. The $188,000 piece is available exclusively at Richard Mille boutiques worldwide.
John Legend: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph Image Credit: Audemars Piguet/Getty“Ordinary People” singer John Legend wore a not-so-ordinary Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph to the Voices of Beauty Summit in California on Wednesday. Released in 2016, this modern riff on the iconic ’70s original showcases a large 41 mm yellow-gold case and an elegant white grande tapisserie dial. Powered by an automatic movement (Calibre 2385), the watch features a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock position, a 12-hour subdial at 9 o’clock, a small seconds indicator at 6 o’clock, and an angled date display at 4 o’clock. Nothing ordinary about that.
Lando Norris: Richard Mille RM 67-02 Image Credit: Getty/Richard MilleLando Norris may be all about Formula 1 racing, but his timepiece honors another sport. The McLaren driver wore a Richard Mille at the Australian Grand Prix that was made in honor of Qatari high jumper Mutaz Essa Barshim. Richard Mille has created several versions of the RM 67-02 for pro athletes, but this particular reference is distinguished by a purple Quartz TPT case. The striking piece also features the watchmaker’s signature skeletonized dial. Weighing just 32 grams, the RM 67-02 is the lightest automatic watch in Richard Mille’s collection. The ideal wrist candy for F1 racing, then.
Glen Powell: Omega Constellation Image Credit: Getty/OmegaThe Constellation was launched by Omega in 1952, but the model has come a long way since then. The watch actor Glen Powell wore to a recent game between the Lakers and Pacers is proof. The modern reference features a 41 mm stainless steel case, a black ceramic bezel with Roman numerals in Liquidmetal, and a sun-brushed black dial. Under the sapphire crystals lies the iconic Constellation star, the Omega logo, and a date window at the 6 o’clock position. The black beauty is priced at $7,100.
Dan Stevens: Panerai Luminor Due Image Credit: Panerai/GettyWhat do you pair with a fun, floral Dzojchen ‘fit? A classic Panerai wristwatch—if you’re Dan Stevens, at least. The British actor, most famous for playing Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey, wore a Luminor Due 3 Days Titanio (PAM00728) to the L.A. premiere of Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire on Monday. The Due retains the classic, iconic Luminor styling but is smaller and thinner. As its moniker suggests, the timepiece also features a lightweight yet sturdy 42 mm titanium case and offers a power reserve of 72 hours. Other design highlights include a blue “sandwich” dial and a brown suede strap. This particular reference was actually released in 2017 and is no longer in the Panerai catalog.
