Conor Bradley turns super-sub as Liverpool's late salvo sinks ...
Young Northern Ireland international defender Conor Bradley impressed during Liverpool’s FA Cup win over Arsenal
Northern Ireland international Conor Bradley helped Liverpool seal a late 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the FA Cup Third Round.
The 20-year-old, who has 13 Northern Ireland caps, came on in the 75th minute for Harvey Elliott and produced a slick performance at the Emirates Stadium.
After Bradley’s arrival, the Cup tie swung in Liverpool’s favour.
Jakub Kiwior conceded an own goal after 80 minutes before Luis Diaz’s neat finish in second-half added-time was enough for Jurgen Klopp’s men to claim victory.
The senior appearance, which was praised by supporters on social media, was a major boost to Bradley, who signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool at the end of 2023.
A back injury stalled the Aghyaran man’s club and international career, preventing him from kicking on after making his first appearance of the season in the Europa League win over LASK at Anfield.
Full-back Bradley joined Liverpool in 2019 from boyhood club Dungannon Swifts. He made his Liverpool debut in September 2021, and after a successful loan spell at Bolton, he has now made seven competitive appearances for Klopp’s side.
Trent Alexander-Arnold hailed Liverpool’s late victory over the Gunners.
“It was a huge win,” he stated. “We had chances and we changed things at half-time internally. We came out and played football, created chances, the changes we made had an impact for us.”
Northern Ireland international Brodie Spencer featured for Huddersfield Town in their 5-0 defeat at Manchester City.
