Northern Ireland star Conor Bradley opened his Liverpool goal scoring account with a fantastic strike against Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The 20-year-old right-back, who is from Castlederg in Co Tyrone, has impressed for Liverpool in recent weeks but had yet to find the back of the net.

However that changed when he surged forward from deep and arrowed a wonderful finish into the bottom corner to double the Reds’ advantage in their Premier League tie against Chelsea, which they would go on to win 4-1.

"Tremendous finish. I’m delighted for him, he’s been up and down that right flank all night,” hailed former Rangers forward Ally McCoist on commentary for TNT Sports.

"It’s brilliant from Bradley. I think (Raheem) Sterling switches off but, that said, Bradley has an awful lot to do. Great football, it really is.

"Lovely finish across Petrovic. That’s not the finish of a right-back. That’s a striker’s finish.”

At half-time, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was effusive in his praise of the Northern Ireland youngster, arguing that he is giving manager Jurgen Klopp a real headache at right-back.

"This kid Conor Bradley has said we’ve got another right-back who is going to be doing things in this game because he’s been nothing short of phenomenal in that first half,” praised the ex-England international.
