Galway v Kilkenny LIVE as Tribes hit back in late, late show
Galway host Kilkenny in a crucial Leinster Senior Hurling Championship groups stage clash at Pearse Stadium on Sunday 28 April with a throw-in time of 2pm.
Both sides opened their 2024 accounts with a win. Galway eventually pulled away from Carlow, while Kilkenny made easier work of Antrim.
And as bookies, punters and pundits alike hoped, it was a tight one. Galway lead Kilkenny for much for the first half, a late showing before the break eked Kilkenny in front.
The teams battled, neck and neck, until Galway hit a second goal. Briefly, they were level before Kilkenny snuck back in front. With the 70 minutes up, Galway still trailed by three. They chipped away at the lead, with late points from Evan Niland and Conor Whelan earning the Tribes a well-earned share of the spoils.

Wexford and Dublin will be also waiting to see if they can snatch one of the top two slots from group favourites, Galway and Kilkenny.
The third-placed team enters the unknown waters of the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final stage, so both teams would prefer a crack at the showcase Leinster Final set for Croke Park on 8 June.

Galway and Kilkenny is the tie of the round - Galway, champions in 2017 and beaten only by Limerick in 2024, and Kilkenny who haven't taken Liam home since 2015 and were beaten finalists in 2022.
Last weekend, Galway were matched by newly promoted Carlow, the Joe McDonagh champions of 2023. For 55 minutes or so, Carlow looked like they had never been away from the top table, and the final score of 2-25 to 2-14 flattered the Tribesmen.
Galway are slight favourites for the tie, bookies have them at 10/11 leading up to the game. Kilkenny are still in with a shout at 11/10. The closeness in quality between the teams is also reflected in the 8/1 odds for a draw.
Tickets for Galway and Kilkenny at Pearse Stadium on Sunday 28 April throwing in a t 2pm are available from Ticketmaster. Adult tickets for the unreserved seating area from €25, tickets for the standing terraces from €15.
