Radio Presenter Tracy Clifford On Her Struggles To Conceive
'I had silent endometriosis' Tracy Clifford on her struggles to start a family
Radio presenter Tracy Clifford keeps many of us entertained on her afternoon show on 2FM but recently the DJ found out that when it came to her health, there was something not right.
Tracy was due to get married but like so many others, during COVID this was put on the back burner and since then she says other things in life have now become a priority.
She and Mark have been trying for a baby but while going down this road she realised that there was something underneath the surface, when it came to her health that had to be tackled first.
Chatting to the RTÉ Guide Tracy spoke of how 'After all the exploration that you do when working out why it's not happening, I found out that I had silent endometriosis and that was just in February, so I've been trying to navigate that.'
While many women all over the country suffer from this there was one aspect that was frightening for Tracy: 'I wasn't in any pain with it, no symptoms that I was aware of. When I did the research, I found out that one in ten Irish women have endometriosis and that they're suffering terrible pain...I was walking around with stage three endometriosis, and I didn't have a clue and it was affecting my fertility.'
After having a laparoscopy this year, which removes the endometriosis the couple are continuing to try for a baby. Speaking about what had happened to her, she hopes that this will help other women who may be going through similar circumstances.
Also, I believe that when it comes to menstrual concerns, often women are 'fobbed off' in this country,
