Met Eireann has put Ireland on alert with a series of Weather Warnings as Storm Kathleen is set to bring damaging winds. 

Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange Wind Warning for Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Galway and Mayo with a Status Yellow Weather Warning issued for all of Ireland. 

The Status Orange Weather Warning warns that Storm Kathleen will bring gale force southerly winds, with some severe and damaging gusts. Possible impacts include very difficult travel conditions, fallen trees, power outages, coastal flooding and wave overtopping. The warning will be in place from 7am to 5pm on Saturday.

The Status Yellow Weather Warning will be in place from 7am to 8pm on Saturday and warns that Storm Kathleen could cause some fallen trees, difficult travel conditions, debris, loose objects displaced and some coastal flooding. 

The Met Eireann weather forecast for Saturday warns that it will be very on Saturday morning as Storm Kathleen tracks north over the Atlantic coast. Very strong and gusty southerly winds, with severe gusts in exposed areas in the west from early in the morning. Scattered showers will spread throughout the country too before gradually easing later in the afternoon as Storm Kathleen moves off to the north. Highs of 12 to 15 degrees.

Very windy and unsettled on Saturday night with strong and gusty southerly winds, especially strong along western counites. Rain will affect western and southern counties while elsewhere will see a mix of cloud and outbreaks of rain. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.

According to Met Eireann, Sunday will be another very unsettled day with very strong southwest winds along western counties. Quite cloudy too with rain gradually spreading throughout the country during the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.
